The design narrative unfolds with a clever use of materials that introduce both warmth and contrast. The original materials, from the flooring transformed into a captivating herringbone pattern to the reimagined walls, stairs, living room, kitchen, and bedroom, have all been thoughtfully replaced, setting the stage for a sophisticated living experience.
The bedroom on the second floor was transformed into a functional space, transitioning from a typical sleeping quarter into a spacious walk-in closet and a makeup desk. Relocating the bedroom functions to the first floor adds an adaptive aspect to the space's functionality, cultivating a flexible and multipurpose living environment.
On the first floor, strategic spatial delineation is emphasised with the use of windows as partitions, dividing the bedroom from the living area. This not only creates a sense of connection but also enhances the overall perception of space, making every corner feel purposeful and interconnected.
Moreover, the design language incorporates subtle curves on the walls, introducing dimension and visual interest to the interiors. Meticulously applied moulding adds an element of elegance without overwhelming the space, drawing the eyes upward and creating the illusion of higher ceilings.
Crafted from stainless steel in a captivating champagne hue, a bespoke liquor display cabinet injects a touch of luxury and establishes an inviting ambience. Hanging lights from the ceiling illuminate the second-floor walk-in closet, transforming it into a focal point and a testament to thoughtful design. Additional meticulous details include champagne-coloured handrails and glass balustrades that exude a modern sensibility, creating an airy feel in the room whilst maintaining a seamless visual flow.
Overall, diverse textures come to life through the artful implementation of various stones and other materials, contributing to a tactile richness that elevates the sensory experience of the apartment. The marriage of modernity and experimentation with materials has resulted in an airy, light-filled duplex residence that exceeds conventional boundaries, truly offering a unique and captivating urban retreat.
